Resources for Educators:
One of the main challenges facing manufacturers today is a growing gap in skilled labor. To address this issue, more young people must be inspired to pursue manufacturing careers. Having students participate in Manufacturing Day events is a wonderful opportunity to start this conversation and begin ensuring the future of manufacturing in the U.S.
The Manufacturing Day Educator Toolkit has been designed to help hosts connect with student visitors during their Manufacturing Day events and to aid educators in fostering conversations about manufacturing careers in the classroom.
Parents and students will also find the kit a useful resource for their discussions at home and amongst peers, as it:
Explains the importance of Manufacturing Day for students
Offers compelling reasons for young people to pursue manufacturing careers
Underscores the need for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education
Includes additional resources for learning more about educational programs that prepare students for careers in manufacturing.
