An initiative of County Executive L. Brooks Patterson, the team at Advantage Oakland specializes in assisting businesses with starting, financing, growing and expanding, finding a workforce and business development.

The MISD serves 21 public school districts, charter schools and private/parochial schools in Macomb County. Their staff helps to bring best practices to the classroom and education’s best to students of all abilities.

WIN’s mission is to create a comprehensive and cohesive workforce development system in Southeast Michigan that provides employers with the talent they need for success. 

DEGC is a nonprofit organization that works closely with the city of Detroit and other partners to support existing businesses and to bring new companies and investments to the city. They offer a broad range of financial, technical and development assistance.

The MEDC markets Michigan and provides the tools and environment to drive job creation and investment. They aim to transform the Michigan economy by growing and attracting business, keeping talented residents here and revitalizing our urban centers.

Reporting directly to Macomb County Executive Mark A. Hackel, the mission of the department is to retain, grow and attract economic investment while improving the overall quality of life for residents and businesses in Macomb County.

Michigan Works! is a unified workforce development system and an integral partner in developing Michigan’s economic future. It is demand driven, locally responsive and ready to meet the needs of each community.

Through MAP+, a grant-funded partnership between Macomb and Grand Rapids Community College,
low- or no-cost training is available to prepare students for a skilled trade, apprenticeship or similar work-based learning opportunity
